BASED ON THE TRADITIONAL FOLKLORE OF THE PERM REGION, WORKS OF ANTONIO VIVALDI AND NEY ROSAURO.

With the participation of: ensemble "Repey", artistic director Maria Kryukova ensemble Rosarium, artistic director Maria Katarzhnova

300 years ago, such different, but significant events took place: the birth of the city of Perm and the birth of the work that became the face of classical music, "The Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi. The project "Times 300" on the one hand pays tribute to these events, and on the other - looks at them from today. Vivaldi writes his work in the form of a calendar circle, which is one of the most ancient themes and principles of organization of any folklore. Petr found it interesting to hear three musical textures in symbiosis: Vivaldi's "The Seasons", traditional folklore of the Perm region, also dedicated to the seasons, and Ney Rosauro's "Concerto for Marimba and Strings No. 1", a modern text that also talks about this topic. Folk texts collected by the "Repey" ensemble during expeditions in the Perm region will give us today an opportunity to get to know the mysterious Russian man of that time a little better. 300 years ago, Perm was just emerging, while Venice was in its prime. It is all the more curious to compare folklore ideas about the seasons with Antonio Vivaldi's work. The Rosauro Concerto will complement these reflections, about the same thing, but from today.
