Nikolai Stepanovich Gumilyov (1886 - 1921) - the great Russian poet of the Silver Age, the founder of the school of acmeism. He visited Africa three times. These travels played an important role in the poet's life and a whole cycle of poems is dedicated to them, which still sound very relevant.
The play "Ebony Skin" - Nikolai Gumilyov's poems about Africa, as a symbol of paradise, and the most ancient African instruments in an ultra-modern sound. The strong and imaginative inner music of Gumilyov's poems is transformed into reality with the help of classical composers of the avant-garde and minimalism of the 20th century with the help of marimba, djembe drums and conga. Yulia Peresild is an actress who is always open to experiments. She will embody the female and male images of Gumilev's poetry, the color of Africa created by him. Yulia Peresild never gives permission for re-sounding, because her voice is part of the DNA of her image. In the play, Yulia's voice is one of the musical instruments. Petr Glavatskikh is a multi-percussionist, called "the ideologist of the modern drum movement in Russia." He finds inspiration in the harmony of incompatible elements.
